Apple Maple Cold Brew

An unlikely pairing of apple and coffee has become my most favorite cold brew this season. It is sweet, a little tangy, and full of fall flavors.

Yes, I know, apple and coffee. From the outside, it seems kind of weird. But if you think about it, apple and coffee are a good pairing for baked goods, so I thought, why not put it in the form of a cold brew.

The apple flavor is coming from Homemade Apple Cider (recipe here), so it is also offering the warming spices that come with it. The whole thing is topped with a maple, cinnamon cold foam that adds a great sweetness and creaminess.

And my favorite part, it is free from refined sugars and syrups! We use maple syrup for sweetener and I promise, you won’t even know it. So skip the coffee shop in the morning and make this instead! You won’t regret it! Let us know what you think in the comments!

Details & Tips

I will say it every time. Start with a GOOD cold brew! My technique of how to make good cold brew concentrate at home is found here. It is easy to make, I promise!

This recipe is also using my homemade apple cider. You most definitely can buy store bought. I do recommend looking for a local apple cider or one from the refrigerated section. The apple flavor will be much stronger than those found that are shelf stable.

The cold brew gets topped with this creamy and sweet cold foam. This is like the cherry on top of an already amazing coffee. It is sweetened with maple syrup and has a hint of cinnamon and nutmeg, bringing home that warming flavor. To get that true foam texture, whisk the cream mixture to soft peaks.

Once everything is layered in the cup, take a straw and slowing mix everything together. This is where the magic happens. All of the flavors come together into the perfect, fall sip of coffee. It is such a treat, and a fun way to start your day!

Customize

You can use honey or maple syrup in this coffee recipe. Use whatever you have on hand.

Adding a pinch of flaky salt into the cream takes this to the next level, giving just a hint of salt to the foam!

Prepping the Cold Brew

Prepping the cold foam and apple cider in advance makes putting this coffee together a breeze. Everything can be done ahead of time. In the morning, all you have to do is put it all together!

I will typically make a big batch of cold brew each week which will last me a good 6 days. Then, make the cold foam and apple cider for those times you want to add a little something to your morning coffee!
