Here is a weekly roundup of all of my favorite things! This week, we are hitting on my favorite health hack that is easy, cost effective, and great for gently detoxing. I will also be talking about my current favorite workouts and some blog posts that have really been inspiring!

A gentle detox!

Over the past few months, I have been on a gentle detox just to work on getting my body back after 3 pregnancies. I got my blood work done through my doctor and then I worked with a holistic practitioner to review everything and move forward with steps to balance out my hormones and overall wellness. It has been a journey and I don't think it is even near over, but I am really starting to see some progress.

One of my most favorite things I have done as a part of my care plan is a castor oil pack for my liver! It has been a game changer. I have been using the Queen of Thrones castor oil and liver pack for 3 months now. Check out her website for details and tips on how to use it! She also has a ton of great products I am excited to try out.

How I wear my castor oil pack!

I wear the castor oil pack when I go to bed and sleep the night through with it on. It is very comfortable and I honestly can't even tell I have it on when I sleep. It doesn't move around when I sleep or anything like that. It is best not to wash the castor oil pack. I have been switching mine out every 3 months as suggested.

I do alternate the placement of my pack depending on how I am feeling and what I have consumed. If I have had a few cocktails, I will wear it wrapped around my right side for liver support. If I am on my ovulation phase or just starting my cycle, I will wear it centered on the lower part of my abdomen for extra support there. If I am feeling I need some help with my digestion, I will wear it centered in the middle of my abdomen.

A pleasant surprise in wearing the castor oil pack regularly is that is has tightened my skin on my abdomen which is a little stretched coming off three pregnancies. Moving the castor oil pack around will help that tightness happen all around instead of in just one area. Plus, it has a lot of benefits for other areas as well.

The detox!

What is crazy is that I could actually see the detoxing happen. When I started wearing it, my stomach would be itchy and a couple mornings, I even woke up in a rash on my arms, back, and shoulders. I also had other typical detox symptoms so I knew this is what my body needed. Since I have been wearing it consistently, a lot of those symptoms have subsided but I am just loving everything about it! I wake up feeling so good. Things that I have really noticed a difference in is my digestion and my energy level. Both have improved so much. It is honestly something that I do not leave out of my routine!

Links to castor oil pack!

I feel like it is truly a hidden gem of a health hack. The best part is that it's not expensive! The pack is only $36 and the castor oil (which lasts so long) is only $37. Definitely worth it! Check out the links below! As always, do your research beforehand. I am only here to share my own experience!

Some clothes and sheets!

You guys! I have found some really great clothes that are such great quality and not super expensive! A bonus is that they are made with high standards and most are free of harmful chemicals.

Quince Clothing!

The company is called Quince, and I am telling you, it is so good! I have bought some staple pieces for my closet and have loved everything I have bought.

The first is the Tencel Button Front Midi Dress. I bought it for my youngest daughter's baptism and loved it! It is so flattering and a soft material making it perfect for any time of year.

Something else I love about Quince's products is that most are made of organic, natural fabric, free of harsh chemicals. I definitely have not switched out the majority of my clothes, but as I purchase things for events and everyday, I am choosing products that are a better option. Quince makes that so easy! I recently purchased their organic cotton boyshorts and organic cotton scoop bralette and have really liked those as well.

Lastly, I did a big pack to school purchase for my oldest and everything came and was perfect. We went with some basic sweatshirts and long sleeve shirts. We also did some joggers, leggings, and jeans. I cannot say enough good things about the quality and the price!!

Quince Sheets!

I recently switched out our sheets too and am in love (picture from quince.com below)! They are cooling and so so soft and comfortable. They also wash up so nicely. I went with the Classic Organic Percale Sheets - so good!

Workouts and Blog Posts!

I have been consistently working out, which has felt so good. I started doing these workouts on Youtube when I was pregnant and have loved them. The Youtube channel is called Nourish Move Love. Lindsey is a mom of 3 kids who is just trying to share health and movement through her community. She is AMAZING! She is so motivating in the workouts and touches on topics that should be top of mind to all of us as we age.

She recently wrote a blog post called the Winter Arc and I am telling you, the motivation that it brought is real. A lot of people get into a mindset around this time of year to just ride out the rest of the year and start again in the new year. Her narrative is different. She talks about taking these last four months to be productive, set goals, and achieve them! She has laid out simple ways to end the year on a strong and positive note, from fitness, to nutrition, to lifestyle. I plan to do this starting on October 6th and am so excited! It will take me to December 29th, being the motivation I need to push through the holidays!

Recipes!

Now moving onto what really makes me smile, recipes! I have been working on some really great stuff for the fall and even thinking about what cozy recipes I am going to be wanting to share as the seasons turn. If you have any ideas of what you want to see, please let us know in the comments.

As of now, I am in the thick of party planning for my youngest daughter's 1st birthday. We are going with a garden theme and it is going to be so fun! We always have to have cake and decorated sugar cookies. But for food, I am leaning toward a more fun approach with different apps and small bites. I will be sure to share the recipes and details as it passes!

But for now, here are some of my absolute favorite recipes as we headed back to school! We have a dinner staple that is quick and fun. We have cold brew to keep us fueled. We have a make-ahead breakfast that is perfect for on the go! And of course, we cannot leave out snack time!

We hope your week is wrapping up in a productive way and that you are greeting up for a really fun and relaxing long Labor Day weekend! Enjoy it!
