We write every recipe with the baking dish in mind. Ratios and cooking time can really make a difference. You can most definitely use a different sized baking dish but just know that you may need to adjust the cooking time as the batter will fill the pan differently than what is instructed.

Every recipe is made with farm fresh eggs, meaning the sizes vary. On average, they are large eggs.

You did nothing wrong! Baking is one of those things where textures and consistency can vary by the slightest difference. The brand of butter you use, the size of eggs, the way you get your flour into the measuring cup, all of those things can make a difference! Use your gut instinct when mixing things together and always check my notes below the recipe card for helpful tips!

In most cases, I use a spoon and gently spoon the flour into the measuring cup. Then, I level it off to get an even top. There are those times where I am feeling rushed. So I might just fluff the flour a few times with my measuring cup, and then go for it.

I am using unsalted butter, for most every recipe, unless specified. Salted butter is what we eat by the spoonful or smeared all over some warm bread. Everything else is unsalted. As far as brands go, my go to is Kerrygold, mainly because it is easy to find in Midwestern small towns.

As of now, I do not have a full list of items and brands that I use, only because a lot of mine are locally sourced. In each recipe, I will add in brands that I enjoy for that specific ingredient if I find that to be a more unique item. I am working on getting an Ingredients Guide together and will let you know as soon as it is!

All products at IMWR are made in the USA! Our ceramic, such as our bowls and coffee cups, are handmade by Kunzler Studios in West Des Moines, IA. Our Spoons are manufactured in Laurel, MS, but Scotsman Company. Everything else is carefully sourced by US based companies.

In the first 14 days of receiving your order, you can submit a return for full refund on your items as long as nothing is damaged, tags are still on, the item is unwashed and unused, and it is in original packaging. Simply click the return button on your order details and follow the instructions. Refunds are processed once the item is received.
If it has been 15-30 days since receiving your order, you can return the item for in-store credit. The credit is emailed to you as soon as we receive your items.
After 30 days, items are not eligible for return, refund, or in-store credit.

Submit a return and indicate that the item was damaged in reasoning for return. A refund will be sent upon us receiving the damaged item.
