Fluffy Buttercream Frosting
It really is so fluffy! I LOVE frosting, like a lot. It is the best part of any cake or cookie. And a bad frosting can ruin a bite. We don't want that.
This frosting is my absolute dream frosting. It is fluffy, smooth, and so so yummy. The ratios are so perfect to not make an overly sweet frosting, but also to not be butter forward.

Details and tips!
This frosting will cover a 2 tier 8 inch cake or a lot of cookies. I also use this as the center of whoopie pies and really anything that requires frosting or a creamy center. It is so versatile and so quick to whip up.
The secret is to whip up the butter BEFORE you add in the powdered sugar and other ingredients. This will insure everything is nice and smooth once combined together.
What you need!
- unsalted butter
- heavy cream
- powdered sugar
- salt
- vanilla extract - make sure it is pure vanilla extract

Customize!
You can really take this recipe as a blank canvas. Adding coco powder is a great way to make it a chocolate frosting. You will just need to adjust your liquid a little to get the perfect consistency.
You can also add in sprinkles, chocolate chips, any fruit jam you want! This recipe is truly fool proof and so versatile.
I hope you appreciate a good frosting as much as I do. And if you don't you might after you try this one!
Enjoy!

Buttercream Frosting
This is the perfect frosting for any occasion. It is light and fluffy!
- 1 cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- salt (a pinch)
- 3-5 tablespoons heavy cream (room temperature)
- In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, whip the butter for 2-3 minutes until it is nice and fluffy.
- Add in the powdered sugar, vanilla, salt and 3 tablespoons of heavy cream.
- Starting on low, mix everything together. Once the powdered sugar is starting to mix into the butter, increase the speed to medium and mix until light and fluffy.
- Add heavy cream a tablespoon at a time for desired consistency.
Add in additional heavy cream slowly to make sure you do not add too much. I typically use 3-4 tablespoons but sometimes it seems it to take a little more than 4 tablespoons. Go with your gut and it will turn out great!
